This 30-minute video mapped multi media spectacle celebrates the many facets that make up Campeche. Past present and future converge as we pay homage to the beauty, history, culture, and people of a region so unique it deserves to be shared.
The canvas for the spectacle is the 80-meter long by 12-meter high facade of the Biblioteca in the heart of the historical district of Campeche, a Unesco World Heritage site. The permanent installation plays several times a week, free for all to enjoy on the town’s main square. Our goal on this yearlong journey was to deliver a spectacle that went beyond the expected highlighting of historical facts in chronological order narrated by a voiceover. Instead we embraced the challenge to create a spectacle that can be considered a mural of moving imagery that pays homage to all the elements that make Campeche such a unique place, and also properly represent the spirit of the Campechano people.
The project was funded by the Secretary of Public Works of Campeche State, and was developed within the framework of the restoration of the historical City Hall, Customs Building and Library in downtown Campeche. Under guidance of Nol van Genuchten, Creative KAOS Management was responsible for the overall Creative Direction of the project: Writing the storyline, as well as the artistic direction of the video content and musical score. Creative KAOS Management managed to deliver the project Turn-Key as Proluxon in carrying the workload for the technical system design, audio design, systems integration, show control, and supplying all the equipment for the project.
Our partner 4U2C produced the video content. 20K collaborated on the execution of the audio design. Vincent Lettelier aka Freeworm signed the score. Solotech was the equipment vendor via Proluxon. Creative KAOS Management & Proluxon worked in close collaboration with Producer Elias Cisneros from 333Luxes, as well as local and state representatives, developing a spectacle that is both modern and current, yet also properly reflects the culture and spirit of the local community. Thanks to the hard work of all our collaborators, and based on the audience’s feedback, we truly feel we succeeded in delivering a unique experience.
